It is never easy to monitor the high wear areas of your plant. Scan Tech can provide all of the information and data necessary to control and schedule the maintenance of your high wear components. In a short period of time a wear trend pattern of each target plant area is established which will allow for accurate estimations of remaining life and efficiency drop offs. This ultimately avoids wastage from premature change outs or alternately expensive repairs from not changing out worn consumables prior to failure.
Data can be collected during normal scheduled shutdown periods with very minimal impact on the shutdown time line. This data is then processed utilising Scan Tech’s state-of-the-art software to provide overlays and comparisons to previously collected data. These reports will show the location and amount of wear from new and from the previous inspection. This information can be combined with the relative period production data including variables such as production totals, feed rates, product types and other process variables to form and accurate forecast of the remaining life of the consumable.
An additional use of the chute and hopper scan data is to map, detail and standardise liners and wear plates. Minimising the number of different types of liners and plates in your plants chutes and hoppers can be very beneficial and economical. From ease of supply and minimising stocking levels to simplifying installation and potentially using the same liner across multiple areas of the plant.
